Family-Run Holiday Cottages in Northamptonshire

Escape to the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside and discover a collection of beautifully restored cottages where comfort, nature and unforgettable stays come together.

Driven By Beauty and Sustainability

Tove Valley Cottages is a small, family-run farm and countryside break destination. Determined to share our love of nature with others, we’ve renovated a derelict farm into a must-stay, rural getaway in Northampton.

Our dream was to restore the farm and create unforgettable, family-friendly holiday cottages in Northamptonshire. It was important to us to restore as many of the original features and implement modern, sustainable solutions where possible.

We’re proud to say we’ve achieved just that! Creating a unique destination where anyone and everyone (including pets) can enjoy their home from home stay whilst being kind to the environment. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to not only provide an exceptional experience but one that benefits nature too.

Tove Valley’s History

Tove Valley is a core part of the Northamptonshire countryside. Originally known as Heathcote Farm, it was part of the Fermor-Hesketh estate and operated as a Victorian dairy farm. Although the site was left redundant for over 20 years, many authentic architectural structures and acres of land remained.

Jump to 2006, and we spotted the potential of this peaceful place. Following our passion for nature, animals, and preserving the environment with sustainable solutions, we wanted to do our utmost to share these idyllic spots. Just like that, Tove Valley Cottages and Farm was established.

1800s

The site began life as Heathcote Farm, part of the Fermor-Hesketh estate, operating as a working Victorian dairy farm in the Northamptonshire countryside.

Early 2000s

The farm fell out of use and stood derelict for over 20 years, though many of its original architectural structures and acres of land survived intact.

2006

The founders spotted the potential in the peaceful, overgrown site. Driven by a passion for nature, animals, and sustainability, they set about restoring it, and Tove Valley Cottages and Farm was established.

2013 onward

The derelict farm buildings were renovated into holiday cottages, with a strong focus on restoring original features while introducing sustainable technology, including low-energy appliances and biomass heating fuelled by timber grown on the estate.

Sustainable Renovations

One of the biggest features of our self-catering cottages is their stunning surroundings. We’re committed to preserving them for our customers and the environment for years to come. To achieve this, we’ve invested in eco-friendly alternatives such as low-energy appliances and biomass heating in each cottage. Using timber from our land, you can sleep better knowing your cosy cottage is heated by sustainable energy.

The Farm

Alongside our comfy holiday cottages is a working arable farm where we grow and harvest valuable crops. Grass, maize, and rye, which feed our anaerobic digestion plants, are all grown on-site and used to create sustainable gas and electricity.
