The 2022 British Grand Prix is only a few days away, (we still have some last-minute vacancies if you wish to stay for a long weekend – call now for our 5% local-event discount*), but did you know that Silverstone offers a lot more than Formula One?
The focus of most of the events, as you would expect, is motorsport in one form or another. There is the exhilaration of the MOTOGP during the weekend of 5th to 7th August and a whole host of vintage and classic car races (16th-17th July 2022) featuring beautiful cars from yesteryear.
For fans and owners of Bentleys, the Bentley Drivers Club will be hosting its 74th race meeting at Silverstone this year on the 13th of August. However, it is not just gorgeous classic Bentleys that will be purring and racing around the track as there will be a load of other races throughout the day showcasing other classic cars.
There are many more motor racing events coming up this year but there are also non-car events to keep your eye on. At the start of September, there are the “Run Silverstone” and “Cycle Silverstone” events. Both events offer a range of challenges covering different distances such as a half-marathon race to a family-orientated 2-lap cycle.
Tove Valley Cottages is close to Silverstone, being only a few miles up the road (approximately 10 or 11 minutes drive). We love to promote local events, and we offer a 5% discount for visitors attending local events* such as those held at Silverstone or Towcester Racecourse.
One reason our vacation rental cottages are popular with car enthusiasts is that we have a gated, resident-only car park with parking immediately outside many of our cottages. In addition to being near to both Towcester Racecourse and Silverstone, our location is handy for Northamptonshire, North Buckinghamshire and trips to Oxfordshire. If you fancy some in-person shopping, skiing, indoor skydiving (yes really), or a whole host of other activities, then Milton Keynes is not far away.
